1.2 Reconnect the Device

Step 1: The Quick Fix – Run Windows Update

- Open Settings (Windows + I).
- Go to Update & Security → Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.

2.2 Restart Windows Installer & Device Install Services
Repeat the above for these services:
- Windows Installer
- Device Install Service (Windows 10/11)
- Device Management Enrollment Service
After restarting each, reboot your PC and try reconnecting the device.

If a user is installing drivers from a physical disc or a downloaded executable, the files may be corrupted due to incomplete downloads, disc scratches, or malware interference. Without a complete instruction set, the OS cannot finalize the installation.
6.1 Run System File Checker (SFC)
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type
sfc /scannowand press Enter. - Wait for it to complete (10–15 minutes). It will repair corrupted system files.
