What's inside the tool ZIP folder?

When you extract the tool, you will see:

MPALL.exe – The main GUI tool.
IDBLK_TIMING.dll – Timing database for NAND chips.
FW_PS2251-07xxx.bin – The actual firmware file (e.g., FW07502T.BIN).
Parameter.ini – Configuration file.

Step 7: Read the Drive

Error: `ISP Firmware Mismatch`

Meaning: The .bin file is not designed for the PS2251-07 or is for a different NAND type.
Solution: Search for a "Firmware Database" for the PS2251-07. Find the exact firmware version printed on your drive's original sticker.

3. Preparing the Configuration (The "Burner" File)

The firmware usually comes in a folder containing several files. The most important file ends in .bnr (Burner Image). This file is the bootloader/firmware that tells the controller how to behave.

Burner Image v7.0x.bnr: The actual firmware payload.
Config.ini: Settings file.
MPALL.exe: The application.

Key Concept - VID & PID: Every USB drive has a Vendor ID (VID) and Product ID (PID).

You can keep the default (usually Kingston or generic).
If you want the drive to identify as a specific brand (e.g., SanDisk), you must change these values in the settings. Tip: Use ChipGenius to see what the drive was originally.

Step 6 – Post-Update

Close MPALL.
Remove the USB drive safely using the system tray eject.
Reinsert the drive. It will now appear as a raw, unallocated drive in Disk Management. Open Disk Management → Initialize the disk (MBR or GPT) → Create a new volume.

Create a folder on your desktop: C:\Phison_Update. Place the MPALL tool and the .bin firmware files there. but the NAND initialization failed.

Decoding the Version Number

MPALL v3.93.0C (Latest common version for PS2251-07)
MPALL v3.72.0B (Stable for older TLC NAND)
ST-Tool v3.84 (Special version for Kingston drives)

Golden Rule: You must match the tool version to your NAND type. If you have a drive with Micron TLC NAND, using a firmware for Toshiba MLC will brick the drive permanently.

The Drive is now a "Space" drive (8MB or 0 bytes)

This means the tool flashed successfully, but the NAND initialization failed.

Fix: Go to "Advanced Settings" in the tool (password: 320). Check the box "Manually select Flash" and choose the exact chip found in ChipGenius. Then re-run the process.
